Venue
19th Century Elegance for Today
Experience 19th-century elegance today.
As a former Livingston estate, on the National Register of Historic Landmarks, we have striven to retain the original feel that the property had back in 1856. Located just two hours north of New York City, you will experience an secluded oasis of verdant lawns and grand old oaks, overlooking the Hudson river, with the green peaks of the Catskill mountains across the river serving as the backdrop.
Our venue comprises three distinct areas. There is the Riverside Grounds, a half-mile-long swath of groomed lawn, dotted by century-old white oaks, and anchored by our landmarked mansion, which faces the river. On the hill behind the mansion lies the Barn Complex, fully modernized to host your reception. Between these two is the Carriage House, one of two houses available for rent.
Main House
The Riverside Grounds are perched above the Hudson, with the spectacular view west across the river centered on Round Top mountain. Descend from the mansion’s porch to the edge of the lawn to say your vows. Just afterward, your guests will toast your happiness on the porch as the sun sets.
Carriage House
The Barn Complex is “merely” two barns – one brick and one wood – but yet the space they enclose is magical. Interwoven with woods and lawn, Nature and the man-made become as one for everyone to enjoy.
Barn Complex
The Carriage House, located halfway between the Riverside Grounds and the Barn Complex, can sleep up to twelve guests in comfort. It is the perfect place in which to get ready for the big day, or perhaps to retreat to for some much needed private time.
The Mansion at the end of our half-mile-long driveway serves as an elegant backdrop for your service and/or cocktail hour. Its “piazza”, as the Livingstons called it, wraps around three sides of the building, and has comfortable wrought-iron furniture (with cushions) for your use. The north side can serve a secluded bridal-party waiting area.
To the west of the house are the riverside grounds, overlooking the Hudson, where most couples choose to say their vows. Just to the north is a small lake and tree swing. To the south is a large, flat expanse of lawn, where a tent may be set up.
The Carriage House is located between the riverside grounds and the barn complex. It once housed horse grooms for the Livingston family – now it can house groomsmen of another sort! This 4-bedroom, 4-and-a-half-bath home features air conditioning, a wood-burning fireplace, free WiFi and Apple TV, a large eat-in kitchen, washer & dryer, and a back deck with a barbecue grill.
Three of the four bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms. There is also a
portable twin bed for families, as well as a daybed and a convertible sofa.
In the autumn, aged firewood is provided. Up to two dogs are permitted, by prior arrangement, for a fee. Your rental is for three nights – your choice of Thursday/Friday/Saturday, or Friday/Saturday/Sunday. Self-catered brunches for up to twenty-five guests are permitted if you are staying that night.
The Barn Complex is designed as a quadrangle, framed by the brick barn to the west, woodland to the east, and a wooden barn, with stone patio, to the
north. Bluestone pathways connect the two buildings. On the surrounding lawn, Adirondack chairs are placed for your use. The brick barn houses indoor bathrooms and a prep kitchen, and includes a covered, bi-level
indoor/outdoor space. The wooden barn can seat up to 120 without additional tenting and its deck and stone patio can be tented to accommodate as many as 225 guests. The electrical service is totally modern, so multiple amplifiers and coffee makers can work simultaneously! Outlets abound, allowing for versatile layouts. In addition, we can provide a bespoke fire pit for a small bonfire, weather (and the fire marshal) permitting.

I would love to tell you more about us. Call me between the hours of 9:00am and 7:00pm any day, or send an email! I will be sure to get back to you promptly. Tours of the property last about an hour and a half and can be given almost any weekend, or during the week, if that is more convenient.
As a private, family property, we limit the number of weddings we host per year, ensuring that you will get the attention you deserve on your special day! I shall look forward to hearing from you!
